Two three-pointers in last minute carry Warriors by Lakers

Stephen Jackson scored six of his 31 points on two three-pointers in the final 38 1/2 seconds, and the Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 115-111 Sunday night after blowing a 26-point lead.
Jackson's first three-pointer gave the Warriors a 112-108 lead. After Kobe Bryant's three-pointer with 30.5 seconds left drew the Los Angeles Lakers within one, Jackson connected from the top of the key with 8.5 seconds left to complete the scoring.

Spurs 88, Mavericks 81: In Dallas, Manu Ginobili scored eight points in a 19-0 third-quarter rally that sent San Antonio past Dallas.

But the Mavericks came away worried mostly about the status of Dallas' reigning league MVP Dirk Nowitzki, who hurt his lower left leg during a nasty spill late in San Antonio's game-breaking stretch. Both the ankle and knee seemed to buckle when he landed after running to block a shot.

The team said he would be evaluated today.
● Nuggets 109, Raptors 100: In Toronto, Allen Iverson had 36 points and Carmelo Anthony added 33 for Denver, which won for the fifth time in seven games.
Chris Bosh came one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists as Toronto lost for the seventh time in eight games.
● Wizards 95, Pistons 83: In Washington, Antawn Jamison had 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead Washington to its third straight victory and sixth in its last seven.

Arenas ready, but Wizards not ready

WASHINGTON — An unhappy Gilbert Arenas learned Sunday night that he had not been cleared to play by Washington Wizards team doctors, dashing his hopes of returning in the nationally televised game against the Detroit Pistons — or anytime soon.

The ex-Wildcat Arenas took part in the shootaround Sunday and was so confident that he would be in uniform against the Pistons that he didn't bring proper attire to sit on the bench as an injured player.

As he exited the locker room before the game, Arenas told reporters: "Y'all don't have to write any more. I'm not coming back this year." But he reappeared during the first half of the game, wearing a sport coat as he took his seat on the bench.

Arenas, out since Nov. 16, said his surgically repaired left knee feels fine.

"I was ready," Arenas said. "But they went out there with a fishing pole and yanked me back."
